Clean.
Competitive.
Strong.

Invest in Canada’s next chapter — and the clean economy that will power it.

Clean—Competitive—Strong

Prime Minister Carney, that’s what makes Canada a good investment.

With our abundant resources, skilled workforce, and capacity for innovation, Canadians have what it takes to lead. But if we want investors to contribute to our country’s growth and help us create good jobs, we need to level up.

Invest in clean, affordable energy.

Clean electricity is now a decisive factor in business location decisions. But our cross-Canada electrical grid is subject to messy and unnecessary interprovincial trade barriers and poor coordination. Let’s focus investment on a cross-Canada grid that delivers clean power from coast to coast, and on the clean, affordable electricity that can power our future.

Invest in the future.

Faced with price volatility, supply disruptions and climate consequences of reliance on fossil fuels, countries around the world are already making the transition to renewable energy at an accelerated pace.

Canada can focus investment on real growth opportunities in electric vehicle infrastructure and manufacturing, battery production, and related clean-tech and software industries where we can draw upon a highly-skilled workforce, existing industrial hubs, generous tax credits, and Canada’s preferential access to markets representing 66% of global GDP.

Invest in our critical minerals advantage.

Canada has an abundance of resources that are essential for the clean energy transition. And Canada has a particularly strong expertise and history in mines and minerals within its capital markets, law firms, regulators, and skilled trades. But lengthy approval timelines and legal uncertainty still deter investment.

We need to streamline those project approvals while respecting constitutionally-protected Indigenous rights. The government should lead in obtaining free, prior and informed consent so industry and investors have confidence that everyone’s rights are respected and projects can truly move ahead.

Invest in workers and decent work.

A new economy needs skilled workers, and good workplaces. A high road approach to decent work, job growth and skills development is a competitive – and investible – advantage. Let our neighbours to the south take the low road on labour. We can do better, by being better.

The Path Forward

Canada’s advantage is clear. With stable policies, clean power, skilled people, and world-class standards, we can unlock a wave of business investment and capital inflows that power our transition to a sustainable, inclusive, and productive future.
